Charlotte attracts people from all walks of life with culinary delights, an active arts and entertainment scene, and myriad thriving industries. The city is also home to acclaimed professional sports teams, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, and the U.S. National Whitewater Center, appealing to the athletic enthusiast. The list just keeps going! But we have one more addition to Charlotte’s list of accolades. For the first time, thousands of golf fanatics will flock to Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina from September 19- September 25 for a weekend of golf and a tournament like no other – the 2022 Presidents Cup. 

Charlotte’s neighborhoods and neighbors of Eastover will be given the limelight and shown behind certain holes, including NoDa and South End. Along with thousands of golf fans as well as those attending the event for its delightful local food and electric atmosphere, the City of Charlotte will be hosting President Joe Biden as the honorary chairman.

Quail Hollow Club

Quail Hollow Club is a stunning private member-owned club situated just 20 minutes from The Regent at Eastover. The beautiful white southern-style clubhouses officially opened in 1967. This is not the first time Charlotte has hosted a major golfing tournament. Traditionally, Charlotte hosts the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Club each spring. But Charlotte’s moment in the golfing spotlight came in 2017 when it hosted the PGA Championship for the first time.

The History

The Presidents Cup began in 1994, with a competition held at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Prince William County, Virginia, USA. Through the 25-plus-year journey, the world’s best players have come together to compete for team, country and the honor of raising the Presidents Cup trophy. This year this will take place in The Queen City. 

What to look out for at The Presidents Cup?

The First Tee

The first tee will feature a stadium-like arena, something that the Presidents Cup has never seen built before. The capacity is up to 2,500 fans, and the arena-style venue will be packed with entertainment, including Thursday’s opening ceremony and presentation of the Cup. Don’t miss out on visiting this fun venue with an electric atmosphere!

Eats

For food partners, the Presidents Cup will create an experience reflecting Charlotte’s culture. They will work closely with local restaurants to bring the feel of Charlotte to Quail Hollow. In addition, the neighborhoods of NoDa and Southend will inspire areas of the course and offer cuisine from their respective communities- A great opportunity for future residents to try some local cuisine.
